Kitchen remodels are one of those jobs where every decision either adds up to something cohesive or it doesn't. There's no hiding it. This one in Salisbury came together really well, and here's why - the homeowners had a clear vision that mixed rustic character with a clean, modern layout.

The stone arch over the range is the centerpiece of the whole kitchen. It's hand-laid stacked stone framing a subway tile backsplash with a commercial-style gas range tucked underneath. That combination gives the cooking area a hearth-like feel that you just can't get from a standard hood and tile setup. Above it, exposed wood beam ceiling detail ties the whole rustic theme together without feeling overdone.

We went with two-tone cabinetry throughout - white shaker uppers and perimeter lowers paired with a slate blue island. The contrast keeps the space from feeling flat. White quartz countertops across the board tie everything together and give plenty of durable work surface. Black hardware throughout adds a sharp finishing touch that works well against both cabinet colors.

The refrigerator wall is built-in with custom white trim surround - flush to the cabinetry, ceiling-height, and clean. That's the kind of detail that separates a remodel that looks finished from one that looks pieced together. Hardwood flooring runs the full length of the kitchen and grounds the space against all that white and stone.

This is a kitchen that was designed to actually be used. Plenty of storage, serious cooking setup, and materials that hold up. If you're thinking about a full kitchen remodel in the Salisbury area, this is the kind of result that's possible when the planning is done right from the start.
