Here's what we were working with - a dated kitchen that had aged tile floors, dark countertops, and cabinets that had seen better days. Functional? Sure. But it wasn't doing the space any favors. The homeowner wanted something cleaner, brighter, and more in line with how they actually use their kitchen.
We took it down to the studs and rebuilt the whole thing. New two-tone shaker cabinets - white uppers and dark espresso lowers - completely changed the feel of the room. That contrast alone goes a long way. Paired with bright white quartz countertops, the space opened up in a way the old layout never could.
The backsplash is one of our favorite details on this one. The arabesque tile pattern gives it some personality without being loud. It ties the white uppers and the dark lowers together really well. Add in the new stainless appliances, a stainless range hood, and hardwood floors, and you've got a kitchen that feels completely different from what it used to be.
We also kept the brick fireplace wall in play - it was already a nice original feature, and the new design works around it cleanly. That kind of thoughtful planning is what separates a remodel that looks great in photos from one that actually works day to day. Every detail here - layout, materials, finishes - was chosen with the whole room in mind.
If your kitchen is stuck in the past and you're in the Winston-Salem area, this is the kind of work we do. Full gut jobs, cabinet replacements, countertop swaps - we handle all of it.
